A Human Journey Since 1977
For nearly fifty years, the Puplinge Crafts Festival has been much more than just an event: it’s a story of connections, passion, and passing on traditions.
It all began in 1977, thanks to the vision of Cyril Kobler, the founder of this wonderful adventure. At the time, just a few artisans were displaying their work on Rue de Graman. No one could have imagined then that this initiative would, over the years, become one of the village’s must-see events.
Since then, many women and men have devoted part of their time to helping this festival grow. Presidents, successive organizing committees, booth managers, volunteers, local organizations, partners, municipal staff, firefighters, and artisans have all contributed to its success.
This history was also shaped by prominent figures, such as Denis Choisy, the iconic mayor of Puplinge for twenty-four years, who gave the event its name—a name that has since become its hallmark:
"Puplinge Celebrates Crafts."
It’s also impossible not to mention Moussette Zanotti, a key figure in this endeavor, who devoted many, many years to organizing it with remarkable energy and generosity.
Over the years, the village organizations have played a vital role. The soccer club, the basketball club, the table tennis club, the fire department, the rural women’s group, various associations, and many others have brought this festival to life by forging a unique bond between residents, artisans, and visitors.
Today, this 25th edition is, above all, a tribute to all those who, for nearly half a century, have helped this wonderful journey span generations.
To everyone who has helped shape this story, simply… thank you. Thanks to you, “Puplinge Fête l’Artisanat” continues to bring people together, pass on traditions, and keep the spirit of our village alive.
